DonateKitsap is a social purpose organization based on Bainbridge Island, Washington that provides transport services and community development initiatives for neighbors and organizations.
DonateKitsap is in early development. As we progress further so will our ability to fulfill community initiative projects — DonateKitsap Industry Labs and DonateKitsap Drives.
What is the purpose of DonateKitsap?
At DonateKitsap our purpose is to assist the Kitsap community and unite local students on a mission to connect and make an impact. DonateKitsap Services creates jobs for Kitsap residents and students and funding for DonateKitsap Initiatives.
When was DonateKitsap Created?
DonateKitsap was founded in 2020 by Jacob Chymiy, a 2017 Bainbridge High school graduate and Kitsap resident for over 20 years. Jacob initially started DonateKitsap while away from University of Washington during covid shutdown. In the past four years since founding, DonateKitsap has developed extensive infrastructure to provide full service moving and hauling, and local partnerships for the fulfillment of community initiatives.

DonateKitsap Initiatives
DonateKitsap is in early development and currently in process of building infrastructure for the fulfillment of our initiatives.
Initiative 1: Quarterly drives, every season of the year. DonateKitsap will work with local Kitsap organizations to provide food, pet supplies, clothing, and household goods for neighbors in need. Volunteers are welcome.
Initiative 2: Industry Experiences with World Class Professionals - focused on introducing youth to new worlds of creativity and sparking intrigue through immersive experiences with professionals who have excelled in their industries. The purpose is to introduce the wide world of possibilities to youth through the enthusiasm and experience of leaders who are at the top of their industry, and inspire the next generation youth to explore their favorite fields and find areas they love.
What area's does DonateKitsap service?
DonateKitsap can fulfill transport and services throughout Kitsap county. Currently our office and dispatch base is on Bainbridge. In order to provide and improve DonateKitsap services, there may be a service cost which is determined by the items transported and travel time. All funds go towards providing and improving DonateKitsap and the Kitsap community.
How is DonateKitsap funded?
DonateKitsap is funded through services provided and donation sales.
Funds earned from services provided and donations sold contribute to the continued operation and improvement of DonateKitsap.
DonateKitsap was started in 2020 by Jacob Chymiy as a solo operation offered free for the first year. As the organization has developed, so have the expenses.
Expenses such as labor, equipment, rent, insurance, software, gas, and various other costs. Because of these expenses, and sustainability of operations, DonateKitsap currently asks a $50 minimum service cost for general small goods donation pickups and varying rates for other services. DonateKitsap was created for community benefit, we do assist and donate our time and resources for free to those in need when possible.
What items can be picked up?
DonateKitsap can pick up and transport nearly any household item, large or small. We offer donation pick up, hauling, and assistance. DonateKitsap does not transport hazardous waste. For more details, here's a list of what we take.
What are service cost and how are they determined?
Service cost for transport and assistance are determined case by case. For transport of donations or other items, please send photos and details through the DonateKitsap service form. Donation pick ups can be fulfilled for free if donations offset operational expenses.
Where do donations go?
There are four options:
1. Donations are sold by DonateKitsap.
2. Donations are dispersed to organizations in Kitsap and neighbors in need through DonateKitsap Drives.
3. Donations are posted for free.
4. If unclaimed, donations are recycled or disposed.
DonateKitsap can transport and disperse donations to organizations of your preference and provide tax receipts. DonateKitsap has local partnerships with Habitat for Humanity ReStore® of Kitsap County and Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island.
What are DonateKitsap Drives?
Quarterly drives, every season of the year. DonateKitsap will work with local Kitsap organizations to provide food, pet supplies, clothing, and household goods for neighbors in need. Volunteers are welcome. DonateKitsap is in early development and will be fulfilling its first drive in 2023. More information soon.

Yes, DonateKitsap is insured with commercial liability coverage.
Is DonateKitsap a registered 501(c) non-profit?
DonateKitsap is not a registered 501(c). Founded in 2020 by Kitsap local, and University of Washington Student, Jacob Chymiy. DonateKitsap is an early development, social purpose organization, registered as an LLC currently building our operation and infrastructure.
As the operation of DonateKitsap develops further we may develop a board of established community members and shift to a 501(c). As an early development, self-funded operation with limited resources, our full focus is on providing services and building operation infrastructure without further obstacles. As DonateKitsap develops, our next and main focus is DonateKitsap Initiatives.
What is the future of DonateKitsap?
1. Hire and train residents throughout Kitsap County with a focus on developing thoughtful, caring leaders and preparing them for their bright futures ahead.
2. Fulfill donation transport, hauling services, and household assistance for the Kitsap Community.
3. Provide assistance to next generation youth and neighbors in need through DonateKitsap Industry Labs & DonateKitsap Drives.
